multidimensional healing.
Therapy that can transform through mind, body, and soul work by weaving in creativity and intuition.
Hello, I am Tara Roland, LCSW (she/her pronouns). I provide therapy and therapeutic services for women often self-identified as highly-sensitive. My mission is to serve others, as a guide, to compassionately hold space for the transformative process unburdening & reconnecting mind, body, and soul. I have been in the field for eight years. I was drawn to working with people in healing spaces through the evolution of my own experiences in life. I truly love working with clients to help guide them on the path of rediscovering their most authentic selves. Each and every client inspires me as they work towards learning more about themselves and choosing to live into their fullest expression.
my practice
It is important to honor the deep work that happens in sessions. And so, I believe in the creation of cultivating sacred spaces (even over telehealth) with the client. I have a psycho-spiritual lens, which allows for the spiritual or transpersonal dimensions of your experiences, in addition to your psychological/mental and emotional, to be included in sessions. I work with various modalities including parts work and inner-child, EMDR, active breathwork, dream work, and body-focused & somatic therapy. I allow for a creative flow outside of clinical training, and believe the therapeutic relationship is the ultimate healing agent. I often pull in intuitive astrology and tarot/oracle cards to use as projective tools to support your healing. I love the way these projective tools can offer symbolism or imagery to validate! I’m also trained in energy work which can provide extra support when digging in and processing.
you’re not alone and your needs matter.
being here does not mean you are broken, it just means you have gone through hard things in life and took the courageous act to reach out. Because, there’s a part of you that knows there is something more for you than the patterns you might feel stuck in.
is this your experience?
You have contemplated reaching out to get help because how it’s been isn’t working anymore. From a young age, you learned the masks needed to survive. Your struggles and feelings were often overlooked, ignored, or criticized and you learned to burry deep within to push through. Asking for help turned into feeling it would be a burden onto others. You fear they would pull away, or worse leave, so your truth also got buried. Now, as an adult, you see the ways this pattern shows up in your relationships. Because children don’t have the capacity to understand what is happening to be about anyone else other than themselves. Belief systems form as an intrinsic lacking to who you are. Limiting beliefs such as; I’m too much or not enough, unloveable, can’t trust anyone, a burden, etc. A painful repetitive confirmation when in conflict as an adult. This takes a toll on the body. Maybe sleep is impacted. Perhaps issues with nourishing the body or chronic unexplainable pain arise. Your body is feeling tense, overwhelmed, in pain, and overstimulated. You know that something needs to change to give yourself the time to rest and heal. You don’t want to keep hiding in this suffering, you want to show up grounded and be loved and seen for who you truly are.
Logically, you might think, “I went through the pain of the past, I lived it, I should just get over it”.
These masks, or parts, helped you navigate where you are today, and you start to notice they no longer serve you and the life you know you are destined to live. When we experience pain and suffering in childhood, because the perception of the experience was distressing or disturbing, it creates a mark on the body that loops with the mind. An unexpressed, and thus unhealed wound, the mind can’t rationalize or intellectually push out, The way out, is feeling through it. A reckoning of validating what happened to you was painful and not okay. There is a pathway to liberation and freedom. What happened to you does not define you. Trust when your soul is ready to do this deeper work. You will know. And when you are ready, I am here as a guide to help support you on your path back to your authentic self.
social justice statement
The work I do is rooted in sovereignty, and works to actively dismantle systems of oppression through the examination of internalized belief systems. I recognize my identity inherently comes with privilege as a cis, hetero, able-bodied, white, woman. I’m committed to doing my own work, learn from you, and gently invite in feedback. This work is about confronting belief systems that no longer work for us as a collective.
